Three ¾¨Ó㴫ý staff members, an alumna, and one student are involved in the New Castle Playhouse production of J. M. Barrie's Echoes of the War June 6-22.
Dr. Neal Edman, ¾¨Ó㴫ý dean of student affairs, is producing the two one-act plays, which are directed by Dr. Scott Mackenzie, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of theatre. Caryn Nicholson, a 2003 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate who majored in theatre, is associate director.
Featured in starring roles are ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of business Dr. Jacque King and junior English major David Lynch.
Lynch is a son of Daniel and Diane Lynch of New Castle and a graduate of Neshannock High School.
"In 'The Old Lady Shows Her Medals,' a Scottish charwoman invents a soldier son serving at the front in World War I to impress her friends, and is surprised when he actually appears on her doorstep," explained Mackenzie. "'The New Word' comically tells the story of a stuffy upper-class English father trying to communicate his deep feelings to his equally proper son as the young man prepares to go to war."
Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m.
