The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Preschool Lab will dedicate its new playground facility Monday, Sept. 29, at 4 p.m. in room 145 of the Hoyt Science Resources Center.
Scheduled to speak at the dedication are ¾¨Ó㴫ý President Dr. Richard H. Dorman; Dr. Alan Gittis, ¾¨Ó㴫ý professor and chair of the Department of Psychology; Dr. Mandy Medvin, Gibson-Drinko Distinguished Chair of Psychology and director of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's preschool lab; and Charles Y. Mansell, a 1968 ¾¨Ó㴫ý alumnus and member of the board of directors for the May Emma Hoyt Foundation.
The event, which is open to the public, will be followed by a reception sponsored by Central Heating and Plumbing.
Preschool head teacher Diana Reed and preschool teacher Debi Roud developed the project. A grant from the Hoyt Foundation in New Castle and additional support from ¾¨Ó㴫ý funded the ADA-accessible play and climbing structure with slides and a "spinner bowl."
"We are thrilled with the new playground and the creative opportunities for play that it provides the children in our program and from the surrounding community," Medvin said. "Our thanks to the Hoyt Foundation for their generous gift."
