¾¨Ó㴫ý's Ralph Gibson McGill Memorial Library will be rededicated during Homecoming festivities Friday, Oct. 17, at 4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Debora S. Foster, 1974 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate and chair of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Board of Trustees, will welcome guests and make introductions. ¾¨Ó㴫ý President Dr. Richard H. Dorman will give opening remarks. Molly P. Dr. R. Thomas Williamson, ¾¨Ó㴫ý president emeritus, will give remarks. McGill Library's new Williamson Community Room is named in honor of him and his wife, Jean.

Dr. Elizabeth Gibson Drinko, 1944 ¾¨Ó㴫ý alumna, of The Mellen Foundation in Cleveland will share thoughts. She and her late husband, John, are long-time supporters of ¾¨Ó㴫ý, contributing to the Gibson-Drinko Distinguished Chair in Psychology, the Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and the Drinko Room in McGill LIbrary.

The Rev. Dr. Carolyn J. Jones, ¾¨Ó㴫ý trustee and member of the Class of 1958 Golden Anniversary Reunion Committee, will give a prayer of rededication.

Tours of McGill Library and a reception in the Ferguson Room follow the ceremony.

The rededication caps a $6.2 million renovation project that spanned nearly two years. Highlights of the project include: installation of compact shelving for books and periodicals on the ground floor; relocation of the main entrance and construction of a handicapped-accessible lift; creation of the Williamson and the Drinko Rooms; repair and renovation of the Ferguson Room, including refinishing of vintage 1930s solid oak chairs and library tables; and relocation and renovation of the computer lab.
