¾¨Ó㴫ý's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning announced 21 ¾¨Ó㴫ý students who are Scholars in Service to Pennsylvania.
In this AmeriCorps Education Award program, students agree to complete 300 hours of service in a year and earn an educational award of $1,000 which can be used for any educational expense at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, to pay for future educational expenses, or be applied to student loans.
At ¾¨Ó㴫ý, the program is overseen by the Drinko Center and coordinated by Bethany South, a 2008 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate.
Students work with a variety of service agencies, including: Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Lawrence County Community Action Partnership, Habitat for Humanity, ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Residence Life program, and Walker House after-school program.
