Dr. R. Tad Greig, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of music and director of bands, was selected to present two sessions at the South Carolina Music Educators state conference in February.
Greig will present "Warming up: The Construction of Musicians" and "Band Music Selection: What and Why?"
"These two areas are very special to me since much of my material and research for the sessions comes from what I teach to our music education undergraduates," Greig said. "Lectures focus on the means in music education as opposed to the myopic focus on the ends. In essence, how do we train our students to be able to train themselves?"
South Carolina is the fifth state that has invited Greig to speak in the past two years.
Greig, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 1995, earned an undergraduate degree from Grove City College, master's from Youngstown State University, and Ph.D. from Kent State University.
