¾¨Ó㴫ý students selected for inclusion in the 2008-2009 edition of Who's Who among Students in American Colleges and Universities were honored at a March 10 reception in the McKelvey Campus Center.
The event, sponsored by ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Student Government Association (SGA), featured congratulatory remarks from ¾¨Ó㴫ý President Dr. Richard Dorman.
Cory Mathias, retiring SGA academic chair, coordinated the selection process. Criteria for consideration include: junior or senior standing; 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average; leadership experience and extra-curricular activities at ¾¨Ó㴫ý.
Also invited to attend the reception were SGA president Travis Gulling; incoming SGA academic chair Natasha Kassim; current seniors who were selected last year; SGA advisers; and members of President's Dorman's Cabinet.
Beth Brooks, executive secretary in the Student Affairs Office and liaison to SGA, said, "The Who's Who recognition gala has become a spring tradition. Honorees are given the opportunity to invite a faculty or staff member of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý community who has been a positive influence in their campus experience. This serves the dual purpose of recognizing the students' achievements and highlights the encompassing support and encouragement that typifies ¾¨Ó㴫ý."
