¾¨Ó㴫ý to Showcase Student Research and Creative Accomplishments

¾¨Ó㴫ý's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will host "The Best of ¾¨Ó㴫ý" undergraduate research symposium Friday and Saturday, April 24-25.

The symposium is a showcase for student creative and research efforts. It will feature the work of 91 ¾¨Ó㴫ý students, who will present posters, oral presentations, documentaries, art projects, and performances over the two days.

"An important goal of ¾¨Ó㴫ý is to create a culture in which intellectual activities such as research and creativity are valued," said Dr. Terri Lenox, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of computer science and co-director of the Drinko Center. "The Best of ¾¨Ó㴫ý - The Undergraduate Research Symposium allows students to showcase their work and allows the community to celebrate their work."

Posters will be on display in the McKelvey Campus Center starting at 2 p.m. Friday and from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Orr Auditorium Lobby is the location for scenes from Theatre ¾¨Ó㴫ý's production of Pride and Prejudice Friday at 4:15 p.m., followed by senior art talks at 5 p.m., and a reception from 4:30-6 p.m.

Presentations and documentaries are scheduled Saturday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in McKelvey Campus Center and Thompson-Clark Hall.

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Honors Convocation begins at 11 a.m. in Orr Auditorium.

All events are free and open to the public.

The Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning was created to enrich undergraduate education at ¾¨Ó㴫ý through advancing world-class teaching as well as by participating in collaborations that address community and regional needs including strengthening K-12 education.
