¾¨Ó㴫ý students Peter Lukich and Andrew Slane presented the results of their capstone projects at the 2009 Penn State-Behrend Sigma Xi Undergraduate Research and Creative Accomplishment Conference April 18.
Lukich, a senior computer information systems major, is a son of Donna Lukich of Washington and Harry Lukich of Meadowlands. He is a graduate of Chartiers-Houston High School. His project, "TD Sorry! A Look at Temporal Difference Learning Applied to a Popular Board Game," was designated "Best Presentation in the Computer Information Systems/Computer Science Section," earning Lukich a $100 cash prize.
Slane, a senior computer science major, is a son of Michael Slane of New Wilmington and a graduate of Logan High School. His project was "The Development of a Maze Evaluation Metric."
The conference included participants from a dozen area colleges and universities presenting research from a wide range of disciplines.Â
Dr. John Bonomo, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of computer science, served as faculty adviser to Lukich and Slane for their research projects.
Dr. David Shaffer, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of computer science, accompanied the students to the conference.
