Music Department to Host Guest Artists for Concert and Master Classes

¾¨Ó㴫ý's Department of Music will host guest artists Eva Ostrakovna, soprano; Barbara O'Brien, flutist; and Yeeha Chiu, pianist, in a recital Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

The trio will perform a variety of works by Mozart, Berlioz, Charpentier, Pergolesi, Sancan, Goddard, and Chopin.

In addition to the recital, the artists will conduct master classes at 2 p.m. in the Music Department. The classes are also free and open to the public.

Ostrakovna performed as a soloist in chamber music recitals and in music festivals in Europe and the United States; and with the Regensburg, Augsburg, Kassel, Linz, and Zurich Operas.

O'Brien is principal flutist with the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, and the Renaissance City Winds, and is second flute/piccolo in the Pittsburgh Ballet Orchestra.

Chiu, a Steinway artist, performed with the London Philharmonic Orchestra at the inauguration of the first concert hall in Hong Kong; as concerto soloist with the Taipei Municipal Symphony, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Portland (Maine) Symphony, and Vienna Symphony; and appeared in solo and chamber music recitals in Asia, Europe, and the United States.
