Seraphim Chorus, a community choir, will present their holiday concert, "Celebrate the Season," Sunday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. at Poland (Ohio) United Methodist Church and Saturday, Dec. 26, at noon at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish in New Castle.
Both concerts are open to the public and a freewill offering will be taken.
The chorus is under the direction of Mr. Kris Harper, ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct faculty in music, director of the Women's Chorus, and 1981 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate. Kathryn D. Miller, ¾¨Ó㴫ý organist, will accompany the group.
¾¨Ó㴫ý student Daniel Goffus will serve as student conductor and student accompanist.
Goffus, a freshman music education major, is a son of Stephanie Diffendal of Jackson Center and a graduate of Lakeview High School.
The program of holiday favorites includes "Winter Wonderland," "White Christmas," "The Holly and the Ivy," "Away in a Manger," Fred Waring's "'Twas the Night before Christmas," and selections by William Mathias and John Rutter. The concerts will conclude with an audience sing-along.
