¾¨Ó㴫ý kicks off the spring semester sessions of its "Get Real!" life preparation series Thursdays, Feb. 4 and 11, with "How to Avoid Finding Mr./Mrs. Wrong" presented by Dr. William Evans, ¾¨Ó㴫ý professor of counselor education and coordinator of the counselor education program in the Graduate Program, and Babs Quincy, ¾¨Ó㴫ý counselor.

The two-part session focuses on helping people to develop skills in finding out if a person is the right choice for a long-term relationship before getting seriously involved.

Evans, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2001, earned his undergraduate degree from the Pennsylvania State University, his master's from Youngstown State University, and his Ph.D. from Kent State University. He is a licensed professional counselor and a nationally certified counselor. Evans has been published in several refereed journals and presents workshops regionally and nationally on counseling-related topics.

Quincy, who joined ¾¨Ó㴫ý in 1998, earned an undergraduate degree from Gordon College and master's from ¾¨Ó㴫ý.

Sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs, the "Get Real!" series acquaints students with life after college. It provides helpful advice on financial planning; banking; medical care; consumer and personal legal matters; apartment, auto, and house hunting; getting the most out of leisure activities; and preparing for lifelong relationships.

Each session covers a different topic and runs from 12:40-1:50 p.m. in the Witherspoon Lakeview Room. Attendance is limited to 25 students, with preference given to juniors and seniors. Three additional sessions are scheduled for the spring semester: "TriBeCa/SoHo: 2BR/2BA," March 4; "Knowing the Fundamentals of Personal Finance," March 25; and "Strengths Finder," April 29.
