Wind Ensemble to Present Mid-Winter Concert

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Wind Ensemble will present a Mid-Winter Concert Friday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. R. Tad Greig, associate professor, director of bands, and chair of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Department of Music, is an auditioned group of more than 40 students who perform a variety of music for winds and percussion.

The program for the evening includes Mark Camphouse's "Movement for Rosa," a tribute to Rosa Parks; "Moorside Suite" by Gustav Holst; "Poetic Intermezzo" by James Barnes; Kathryn Salfelder's "Cathedrals;" "Commando March" by Samuel Barber; and John Cheetham's "Concertino for Brass Quintet and Wind Ensemble," featuring ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Faculty Brass Quintet.

The quintet includes ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty Robert Antonucci on tuba; Rob Cole on horn; Andrew Erb and Terry Gale on trumpet; and Robert Matchett on trombone.
