The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Symphony Orchestra will present its winter concert Thursday, March 4, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
The program will include works by Sibelius, Saint-Saens, Mozart, Atwell, and Stephan. Senior music and Christian education major Jennie Smith will be featured in an oboe solo in Saint-Saens' "Bacchanale" from his opera Samson and Delilah.
¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty participating in the orchestra are Dr. David Cushman, professor and chair of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Department of Economics and Business, on oboe; and Dr. Daniel Perttu, assistant professor of music, on bassoon.
The orchestra is under the direction of Melinda Crawford Perttu, who joined the ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty in August. She earned an undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and a master's from Ohio State University.
