¾¨Ó㴫ý's fraternities and sororities raised over $10,000 in money and canned goods during Greek Week 2010.

Penny Wars resulted in an $8,000 donation to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Claire Hartner, daughter of Eric and Kelly Hartner, ¾¨Ó㴫ý enterprise network manager.

According to Camille Hawthorne, associate dean of student affairs, a generous donation came from off campus. "PennStar Federal Credit Union in Hermitage let us use their coin counter, saving the fees that would have gone to a vending machine-type counter. In addition, they donated over $500 to the Penny Wars."

The sisters of Sigma Kappa sorority collected donations at "Sing 'n Swing." According to Hawthorne, the amount exceeded expectations.

"We were able to donate $800 to the Richard J. Sentner Family Trust, $400 to Royal Family Kids Camp, and $250 to Mark Massella help defray travel costs for chemotherapy treatments," she said.

Throughout the week, ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Student Government Association (SGA) Service Committee collected over 2,000 cans of food that were donated to Southwest Gardens in Farrell. The food drive was organized by SGA Service Chair Katie Gray.

The week's activities were coordinated by Greek Week Chairs Mike Disotell, Alex Scull, Erika Smith, and Liz Valerio.
