The Children's Hour, Theatre ¾¨Ó㴫ý's final spring semester production, earned a school-record three certificates of merit in technical theatre.

The production was entered in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF).

"A respondent from another KCACTF-participating school sees the play and provides feedback to the students and faculty," explained Dr. Scott Mackenzie, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of theatre. "One of the things a respondent might-but is not required to-do is award a specific aspect of the production a certificate of merit when he or she feels the work is worth special notice."

Zach O'Connor, a sophomore theatre and communication studies major from Kent, Ohio, earned a certificate for Excellence in Stage Management.

Danielle Newport, a sophomore communication studies and theatre major from Lodi, Ohio, earned a certificate for Excellence in Lighting Design.

The design and production team for the play earned a certificate for Excellence in Production.

All of the student designers and the stage manager were mentored by Gianni Downs, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of theatre, who designed the set for The Children's Hour.
