"Networking 101," an alumni panel discussion focusing on proper networking techniques, will be offered to ¾¨Ó㴫ý students Tuesday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in the Witherspoon Maple Room of the McKelvey Campus Center.
"Now, more than ever, networking is an important way to build connections leading to internships, employee opportunities, and career resources," said Mary James, ¾¨Ó㴫ý's director of alumni relations and a 1984 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate. "This event, hosted by the Student Alumni Association, is an opportunity for students to learn about successful networking and to begin building their network through connections to alumni."
James and Kati Edmiston, associate director of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Career Center and a 2000 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate, will share networking advice.
¾¨Ó㴫ý junior English major Chelsi Cannon, a daughter of Jeffrey and Lynn LaMantia of Midland, will moderate a panel of ¾¨Ó㴫ý alumni that includes:
Rob Jackson, a 1991 graduate, CEO of the Grove City Medical Center and member of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Board of Trustees;
Jason Kalajainen, a 1997 graduate, executive director of Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists' Residency;
Becky Rickard, a 1998 graduate, group sales and audience development manager for Pittsburgh Public Theater and a member of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Alumni Council.
Panelists will be available during dessert to chat with students about their areas of expertise.
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Student Alumni Association works to build connections between students and alumni and increase awareness of alumni support of ¾¨Ó㴫ý.
