¾¨Ó㴫ý music education major Victoria Walker will present her senior horn and voice recital Sunday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
Selections on the program include: Puccini's "In quelle trine morbide" ("In Those Laces Soft") from Manon Lescaut; Franz Lachner's "Fragen" ("Ask") from Vier lieder für eine singstimme; Gardner Read's Poem; Paul Gordon's "The Finer Things" from Jane Eyre; Francesco Morlacchi's Ho sparse tante lagrime (I Have Shed So Many Tears); Handel's "Oh! Had I Jubal's Lyre" from Joshua; Enrique Granados' "El Majo Discreto" ("The Discrete Majo") from Tonadillas al estilo antiguo; Kerry Turner's 'Twas a Dark and Stormy Night…; and Bernstein's "Glitter and Be Gay" from Candide.
She will be accompanied by pianist Dr. Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of music, and assisted by ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty Robert Cole on horn.
Walker is a member of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Wind Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Horn Ensemble, Woodwind Quintet, Horn Quartet, and Brass Quintet. She has served the past two years as field commander of the Titan Marching Band and currently serves as co-president of Concert Choir and state president of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association.
At ¾¨Ó㴫ý, she studies horn with Cole and voice with Dr. Robin Lind, associate professor and director of choral activities.
Walker is a daughter of James and Linda Walker of Worthington and a graduate of Kittanning High School.
