Language Lecturer and Student Attended State Conference

Régine Ananou, ¾¨Ó㴫ý visiting French and Spanish lecturer, and sophomore Spanish major Meghan Blumer attended the Pennsylvania State Modern Languages Association conference Oct. 20-21 in State College.

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý representatives were among 180 foreign language educators from middle schools, high schools, colleges, and universities across the state.

Ananou attended sessions on using technology tools for developing teaching aids and student presentations and projects.

Ananou, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2008, earned undergraduate and master's degrees from the Université of Toulouse Le Mirail in France.

Blumer attended sessions focused on foreign language education that included multicultural activities for young learners; language immersion in middle school classrooms; and ideas to keep high school students engaged and interested in foreign language.

Blumer is a daughter of Michael and Kathy Blumer of Wexford and a graduate of Pine-Richland High School.
