¾¨Ó㴫ý's Environmental Science Program will host "Fracking in Our Community: What You Need to Know," an informational meeting for the community, Tuesday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Speakers will address the many complex issues surrounding slick water natural gas fracking.
¾¨Ó㴫ý senior biology major Caleb Smathers will share some of his research on water produced from natural gas drilling. His project is conducted under the supervision of Dr. Joe Balczon, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of bioogy.
Smathers is a son of William and Elizabeth Smathers of Punxsutawney and a graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.
