The ¾¨Ó㴫ý combined choirs will present the ¹ó²¹³Ü°ùé Requiem Saturday, Feb. 14, and Sunday, Feb. 15. The concerts are free and open to the public.
Saturday's 4 p.m. performance will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Sharon. Sunday's 7 p.m. special Vespers service will take place in ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Wallace Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow.
"Gabriel ¹ó²¹³Ü°ùé's Requiem is one of the most finely crafted and beautiful compositions in the choral repertoire," said Dr. Sam Barbara, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of music and director of the choirs. "Our lives have been greatly enriched through the study and performance of this work and we are excited to invite the community to share in our process."
The program will include additional music by Morten Lauridsen, Orlando di Lasso and Healey Willan. The choirs will be accompanied by ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Chamber Orchestra and ¾¨Ó㴫ý organist Kathryn Miller.
Barbara, who joined the ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty in August, earned undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Portland and a D.M.A. from the University of Southern California.
