Posted on Tuesday, November 29, 2005

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Art Gallery features the art of the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild Youth Program, "Urban Invention" through Dec. 9.  The gallery is open Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, noon-9 p.m.

The Manchester Craftsmen's Guild is a multicultural arts education and performance organization located in one of the poorest neighborhoods of Pittsburgh.  For the past 27 years, the Guild has conducted classes in visual arts, with a focus on ceramic art and photography, as well as the performing arts with an emphasis on jazz. Approximately 80 percent of students who are part of the Arts Apprenticeship Training Program at the Guild go on to college.
