Nadia Buzzelli and Cariella Halas will give their senior recital Saturday, March 4, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
The joint program includes Buzzella on the clarinet playing Brahms' "Allegro;" Schumann's "Zart und mit Ausdruck;" Mozart's "Concerto in A major, K. 622;" and Marty's "First Fantasy." Halas, who plays the tuba, will perform Holmes' "Emmet's Lullaby," Vivaldi's "Sonata in A minor," and Beversdorf's "Sonata for Tuba and Piano."
The students will be accompanied on the piano on various numbers by Kathryn Miller, adjunct instructor at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, and Nancy Zipay DeSalvo, chair and assistant professor of music at ¾¨Ó㴫ý.
Buzzelli, a senior Christian education and music major, is a daughter of Robin and Phillip Buzelli, Grove City, and a graduate of Grove City Area High School. She has been a member of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Marching and Symphonic Bands for three years, most recently returning to the drum line during her senior year. Buzzelli has been a member of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Wind Ensemble for four years; a member of the Woodwind Quintet for three years; and played for the pit orchestras for "Kiss Me Kate," "Carmen," and several other ¾¨Ó㴫ý opera productions. Buzzelli hopes to attend the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary to pursue a Master's of Divinity after gratuating from ¾¨Ó㴫ý.
Halas, a senior music education major, is a daughter of Frank and Carolyn Halas, McKeesport, and a graduate of McKeesport Area High School. While at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, she has been involved in the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Brass Quintet, Orchestra, and Pit Orchestra. Halas has also been involved in other campus organization such as Mu Phi Epsilon, Lambda Sigma, Residence Life, and the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association.
