The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Department of Continuing Education has added sign language to the spring class offerings.

Beginner Sign Language is scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 2, 4, 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, and 25 from 6:30-8 p.m. This class explores the world of sign language by demonstrating the manual alphabet, family, people and pronouns, colors, food, action verbs, sports, and hobbies.

Advanced Sign Language is scheduled Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, and 29 from 6:30-8 p.m. This class will explore sign language in more detail including nature, travel, emotions, careers, geography, and numbers.

Both classes are taught by Joseph Gill, a 2003 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate who has been deaf since he was a child.

The classes are designed as enrichment and leisure courses for community residents. Continuing Education classes and seminars are non-credit and are open to all interested individuals. Formal admission to ¾¨Ó㴫ý is not required.
