The sisters of Phi Mu sorority offers a chance to get several ¾¨Ó㴫ý professors "all wet" in the dunk tank during Volleyrock Saturday, May 8, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. near the softball field side of Russell Hall.
All proceeds from the sale of the three for a dollar tickets will go to the Children's Miracle Network.
Professors and coaches available to dunk include: Dr. Joshua Corrette-Bennett, Tom Rosengarth, Dr. Timothy Sherwood, Dr. Ross Wastvedt, Dr. Kang-Yup Na, Dr. John Bonomo, Coach Robert Klamut, and Coach Scott Renninger. In addition, each sorority and fraternity will have at least one representative to dunk.
Volleyrock is among one of the most popular events on ¾¨Ó㴫ý's campus and is sponsored by the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Student Government (SGA).
"This year we have 110 teams with over 800 students participating," said Russell Mills, a junior political science major from Pittsburgh and SGA Vice President. "The day features the volleyball tournament, Quaker Steak and Lube wings, and a concert by national recording artist 'The Starting Line.' In addition to Phi Mu's philanthropy event, Theta Chi and Sigma Kappa are co-sponsoring human bowling to raise money for Dwight Copper."
"Everyone on campus will be there," said Jolene Slattery, a sophomore broadcast communications major from Ridgway. "If they are not playing, they will be watching."
