Posted on Monday, October 27, 2003

The Rev. James R. Mohr II will serve as the new chaplain of ¾¨Ó㴫ý Nov. 17.

"It's my pleasure to announce that Rev. Mohr will become ¾¨Ó㴫ý's next Chaplain," said ¾¨Ó㴫ý President R. Thomas Williamson. "We welcome Jim and his family into the ¾¨Ó㴫ý family."

Mohr comes to ¾¨Ó㴫ý from St. Andrews United Presbyterian Church in Butler where he has been pastor since 1995. While at St. Andrews, he moved through a successful $750,000 building renewal program; helped to develop a free community meal project that serves over 100 meals each Wednesday night; created the first downtown Butler Christian Preschool; and hosted the first Christian counseling service in his church.

Mohr served four years at the First United Church in Silver Creek, N.Y., and four years in the First Presbyterian Church in St. Petersburg, Fla. He earned his undergraduate degree from Muskingum College, and his master's from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary.

Mohr and his wife, Jill, plan to reside in New Wilmington. They have two grown children, Angie and Katie, who are currently in college, and a Springer spaniel named Piper.

A welcome reception is planned Monday, Nov. 24, from 3-4 p.m. in the Old Main tower room.
