Forty-five students have volunteered to form a model United Nations team to compete in scrimmages with other higher education institutions.
Dr. Sandra K. Webster, professor and chair of psychology at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, will present "Lessons Learned in Korea" Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 11:45 a.m. in 311 Patterson Hall.

Susan Shafer, artist in residence at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, will perform Sunday, Feb. 16, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
Dr. Helen M. Boylan, assistant professor of chemistry at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, will present "Microwaves Aren't Just for Cooking" at Faculty Forum Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 11:45 a.m. in Patterson Hall room 311.
"The microwave is a common commercial appliance, and nearly every kitchen in the United States is equipped with one," said Boylan. "What is not common knowledge is the history behind the development of the microwave and how the microwave heats."

¾¨Ó㴫ý elementary education students recently sent gifts to four soldiers in Iraq.

Dr. Matthew Sivils, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of English, received the James F. Beard Award for Young Scholars from the James Fenimore Cooper Society.

Dr. Michael Aleprete, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of political science, presented a paper and was a panel discussant at "Bridging Multiple Divides," the 49th annual International Studies Association (ISA) convention in San Francisco March 26-29.
¾¨Ó㴫ý's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning recently funded several projects that will impact K-12 students.



¾¨Ó㴫ý will award Alumni Citations to Dr. Edmund R. Becker and Janice E. Wilson, and Dr. Anthony F. Pizon will receive the Outstanding Young Alumni Award at the annual Citation Celebration Reception and Dinner Friday, Oct. 9, in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center.
Theatre ¾¨Ó㴫ý will present Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour May 6-9 in Beeghly Theater.
