Thirty-six ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will be inducted into Lambda Sigma during an April 20 banquet in the McKelvey Campus Center Witherspoon room.
Lambda Sigma is an honor society with the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship and the spirit of service among the men and women of the sophomore class. Requirements include a quality point average of at least 3.0, and previous leadership experience. Each year Lambda Sigma inducts no more than 10 percent of the class.

Devayani Wintrode, a senior neuroscience major at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, spent her summer studying primates at the Ometepe Biological Field Station in Nicaragua.
Several ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will shadow the careers of alumni Jan. 15-19.
Sean Taylor, a junior music education major at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, was recently appointed region coordinator of the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association (PCMEA).
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Office of Diversity Services is sponsoring "Who Am I and What Is It to You" Wednesday, Oct. 11, from 6-8 p.m. in the Berlin Student Lounge located in the McKelvey Campus Center.

Dr. Matthew Sivils, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of English, is part of a three-person panel that will discuss the moral issues posed by Herman Melville's "Billy Budd" Monday, April 30, at 5 p.m. at the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, 437 Grant St., Pittsburgh.
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning awarded a travel/presentation grant to Ryan Schafer, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý senior biochemistry major, to present "Synthesis of a New N2S3 Pentadentate Ligand, and its Corresponding Co(III) Complex, as a Model of the Nitrile Hydratase Active Site" at the American Chemical Society national meeting in New Orleans in April.


Dr. Eileen Morelli, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of education, has published Developmental Reading, Achievement and Persistence of African American Community College Students.


¾¨Ó㴫ý students Peter Lukich and Andrew Slane presented the results of their capstone projects at the 2009 Penn State-Behrend Sigma Xi Undergraduate Research and Creative Accomplishment Conference April 18.
Eight ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will spend their spring break teaching basic baseball skills to elementary students March 6-14 in Deadman's Cay, Long Island, Bahamas.
