Dr. Samuel Lightner, chair and professor of physics at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, recently led two workshops at the national meeting of the Division of Plasma Physics of the American Physical Society.
¾¨Ó㴫ý will offer a variety of day and evening classes this summer with credits easily transferred to other institutions.
Dr. Linda Domanski, assistant professor of education at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, was published in the July/August issue of Technology Source.
¾¨Ó㴫ý will host a special chapel service Monday, Jan. 21, at 4 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
The program features musical numbers such as the "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Lift Every Voice and Sing" sung by Lindsey, Jennifer, and Jessica Austin under the baton of their father Gordon Austin, director of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Gospel Choir. The Gospel Choir will perform "Close to Thee," "We Are One," and "We Shall Overcome."

During the fall semester at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, a section of first-year Inquiry students participated in service learning to enable students to increase their personal knowledge about social issues in the local community as well as the efforts made to address these needs.
¾¨Ó㴫ý's Lifelong Learning Program (LLP) will celebrate National Non-Traditional Students Week Nov. 4-10.

Dr. Russell Martin, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of history, attended three conferences this spring.
The Rev. Dr. William N. Jackson, a 1957 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate and member of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Board of Trustees, will present "A Servant Strategy (Witnessing in an Increasingly Secular, Multi-Sensory Society)" at the Wayne H. Christy Memorial Lecture at ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Vespers service Sunday, March 8, at 7 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
¾¨Ó㴫ý's Chapel Office will host a community Thanksgiving worship service featuring pastors from area churches Sunday, Nov. 22, at 7 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. All are welcome to attend.
Ten ¾¨Ó㴫ý students recently received scholarships through The Pittsburgh Foundation. All awards will be applied to the students' tuition for the 2010-2011 academic year.
